A woman is suing an Oak Park hospital, alleging that its negligent care led her to develop ulcers.
Juanita Small filed a lawsuit May 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against VHS West Suburban Medical Center Inc., doing business as West Suburban Medical Center.
According to the complaint, Small was admitted to the defendant's facility on May 27, 2012 after a cerebrovascular accident. While there, she claims she developed ulcers on her heels due to the center's medical neglect.
The defendant is accused of carelessly letting the ulcers develop, failing to treat the ulcers when they were identified and being negligent in caring for Small.
Small is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is represented by Scott B. Wolfman of the Law Offices of Scott B. Wolfman & Associates P.C.
