Several Chicagoland medical centers are facing a wrongful death suit that accuses them of failing to monitor a man during dialysis.

Bernice Herrera, as special administrator of the estate of Frank Robinson, filed suit June 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Fresenius Medical Care, Fresenius Medical Care of Illinois LLC, Fresenius Medical Care Chicagoland LLC, Fresenius Medical Care North Chicagoland LLC, Neomedia Inc., Fresenius Medical Care North Kilpatrick, Fresenius Medical Holdings Inc. and National Medical Care Inc.

The suit names Dr. Haresh Muni and Associates in Nephrology S.C. respondents in discovery.

Herrera claims Robinson received dialysis treatment at the dialysis center run by the defendants on North Kilpatrick Avenue in Chicago on June 22, 2012, when the staff failed to monitor his arteriovenous fistula and it eroded. As a result, the suit states Robinson died of hemorrhage on June 23, 2012.

Herrera is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Brian J. Holmes of Hurley McKenna & Mertz.
