Lachcik

A woman is suing over injuries she claims she sustained after slipping on a bath mat on the stairway inside her Melrose Park apartment complex.

Sonia Suriano filed suit June 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against Rosann M. Pasqualini.

According to the complaint, Suriano was walking up the stairs in the apartment complex she lived and the defendant owned at 1219 N. 23rd Ave. in Melrose Park on July 6, 2012, when she slipped on a bath mat placed on the interior stairway and fell.

Suriano claims she suffered internal and external injuries, including bruises, contusions, lacerations and fracture to her body.

She accuses the defendant of negligently maintaining the stairway, failing to adequately and properly inspect the stairway, failing to warn of the hazardous and dangerous condition of the stairway and carelessly placing the bathmat on the stairway.

Suriano is seeking damages in excess of $30,000. She is represented by Rosemont attorney Terry M. Lachcik of the Law Office of Daniel E. Goodman LLC.
