A man is suing over claims a Burbank rehabilitation and nursing home's negligence caused his loved one pain and suffering.

Edward Love, as administrator of the estate of Patricia Love, filed a lawsuit June 26 in the Cook County Circuit Court against International Nursing and Rehab Center LLC and THI of Illinois at Brentwood LLC, doing business as Brentwood Sub-Acute Healthcare Center.

According to the complaint, Patricia was a resident of the defendants from June 26, 2012, until Aug. 13, 2012, during which time she required supervision and extensive assistance due to her inability to care for herself.

Love claims Patricia developed pressure sores and suffered from dehydration and malnutrition while a resident of the defendants' facility. He further alleges the defendants failed to notify Patricia's physician of her worsening condition.

The suit states Patricia suffered from infected pressure ulcers and incurred medical and hospital bills until her Aug. 14, 2012 death.

Love is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, attorneys fees and courts costs. He is being represented by Charles V. Falkenberg of Karlin, Fleisher & Falkenberg LLC in Chicago.
