A Cook County woman is suing over claims she was injured by nightclub security staff while they were forcibly removing another patron.
Juli Avila filed a lawsuit July 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Big Chicago Inc., doing business as a nightclub called Nikki, and Chicago Title Land Trust Co., as successor trustee to American National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago under a trust agreement.
Avila claims she was standing on the pathway outside the nightclub on North Kingsbury Street in Chicago on July 1, 2012, when security forcibly removed a male patron and knocked her into an area under construction.
The nightclub is managed by Big Chicago Inc., on property owned by Chicago Title Land Trust Co., according to the suit that accuses the defendants of being negligent in failing to cordon off the construction area and remove patrons from a separate exit.
Avila is seeking more than $30,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Paul A. Greenberg of Briskman Briskman & Greenberg in Chicago.
