A child welfare agency in Chicago is being sued by a man who claims he tripped on a nearby sidewalk and injured himself.
Robert Ballogg filed suit May 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against Lawrence Hall Youth Services.
According to the complaint, Ballog was walking on a sidewalk maintained by the defendant at 5100 N. Avers Ave. in Chicago on July 22, when he tripped on a pipe protruding from the ground and fell.
He accuses the defendant of negligently maintaining its premises and failing to warn pedestrians of the hazard created by the pipe.
Ballogg is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs, and is represented by the Law Offices of John A. Ranieri LLC.
