A DuPage County apartment complex and two other companies are facing a lawsuit from a man who claims he was injured in a parking garage.

Michael Spencer filed a lawsuit July 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Draper and Kramer Inc., GE Asset Management Inc. and Wheaton Center Apartments, alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, Spencer was in the parking garage of the defendants' apartment building in Wheaton on July 1, 2012, when he tripped on an uncovered drain hole and sustained injuries, including torn ligaments in his knee.

He accuses the defendants of failing to maintain the premises in a safe condition and cover the drain holes.

Spencer is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Brian M. Murray of Sutter & Ori LLC in Chicago.
