The family of a Cook County woman is suing over claims injuries she sustained in a nursing home led to her death.
Kimberly Stickels, as independent administrator for the Estate of Lorene Stickels, filed a lawsuit July 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Lutheran Home for the Aged Inc., doing business as Lutheran Home for the Aged.
According to the complaint, Lorene on July 20, 2012 was admitted to Lutheran Home for the Aged in Arlington Heights, where she developed pressure ulcers and a leg fracture while being moved by the defendant's employees.
Stickels alleges these injuries contributed to the deterioration of Lorene's health and her Aug. 7, 2012 death.
Stickels is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by attorney Matthew K. Henry of the Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
