A man is suing over claims he was injured by security staff at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios.
Victor Rayas filed a lawsuit July 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against McCaster & Associates Security Services LLC, Cinespace Chicago Film Studios LLC and unknown assailants, individually and as employees or agents of the defendants.
According to the complaint, Rayas was riding his bike on the Cinespace Chicago Film Studios premises at South Rockwell and West 16th streets on Dec. 8, when he was attacked and struck by employees or agents of Cinespace's security firm, McCaster & Associates.
Rayas claims he was removed from the premises with physical force and kicked and punched in his chest, head and body.
His suit accuses Cinespace Chicago Film Studios and McCaster & Associates of negligent hiring, retention and supervision by failing to train their employees to prevent altercations, as well as negligence in both the physical assault and the failure to prevent it.
Rayas is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by attorneys Mark W. Mathys and Mark T. Schneid of Law Offices of Mathys & Schneid in Naperville.
