Suit: CTA bus driver closed doors on woman attempting to board

A woman is suing over claims she was injured when a city bus moved while she was attempting to board it.

Diamond Ziegler filed a lawsuit July 10 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the Chicago Transit Authority, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Ziegler was attempting to board a crowded CTA bus at State and Jackson streets on July 31, 2013, when the driver closed the doors on Ziegler.

Ziegler is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by attorney Bennett J. Baker of Goldberg, Weisman & Cairo Ltd. in Chicago.
