A woman is suing over claims she was injured after slipping on the wet floor of a Western Avenue grocery store.
Jillian Montalvo filed a lawsuit July 10 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Roundy's Illinois LLC, doing business as Mariano's Fresh Market, alleging premises liability.
According to the complaint, Montalvo was shopping at Mariano's Fresh Market on North Western Avenue in Chicago on July 31, 2012, when she slipped on the wet floor near the store's coffee and gelato bar and sustained injuries.
She accuses the defendant of failing to maintain the premises or informing customers of the dangerous condition.
Montalvo is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys at Shea Law Group in Chicago.
