A woman is suing the owner a dog she claims broke through a fence and bit her in Harvey.

Faye E. Hoye filed a lawsuit July 14 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Estell McCalip and Calvin Goldman, alleging violations of the Illinois Animal Control Act.

According to the complaint, Hoye was on the premises of East 148th Street in Harvey that McCalip rented from Goldman on Sept. 27, 2012, when McCalip's dog broke through a fence and bit her.

Hoye accuses McCalip of failing to restrain her dog, and Goldman of failing to maintain the fence.

She is seeking damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Marta A. Zaborska of O'Connor & Nakos Ltd. in Chicago.
