A Cook County man is suing over claims his son was injured when a van hit him while riding his bicycle in a crosswalk.
Ismael Sanchez, as parent and next friend of his minor son, filed a lawsuit July 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Boleslaw Jagiela, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, Sanchez's son was riding a bicycle in a crosswalk in a school zone to cross West 59th Street near its intersection with South Kolin Avenue on Aug. 30, when he was struck by a van driven by Jagiela.
Sanchez alleges his son was rendered unconscious as a result of the collission and taken to the emergency room where he was treated for injuries. He accuses Jagiela of negligence and battery.
Sanchez is seeking more than $30,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Christopher P. Keleher of The Keleher Appellate Law Group LLC in Chicago.
