A woman is suing over claims a cab drove over her foot while she was trying to get in.
Shannon Maloney filed a lawsuit July 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Hurlan Kozhokanou and Yellow Cab Affiliation Inc., alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, Maloney hailed a cab on Lincoln Avenue in Chicago on March 16, 2013, and Yellow Cab driver Kozhokanou pulled over in response.
Maloney claims she was attempting to board the taxi when Kozhokanou unexpectedly moved the vehicle and drove over her foot. She accuses the defendants of negligently operating the vehicle and failing to verify the passenger was safely inside before attempting to drive away.
She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Mark W. Mathys of Law Offices of Mathys & Schneid in Naperville.
