Woman blames Hyatt for trip over curb

Scales

A woman is suing over claims she was injured on an unmarked curb outside a Chicago hotel.

Nancy Epstein filed a lawsuit July 15 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Hyatt Corp. and Park Hyatt Water Tower Associates LLC, alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, Epstein was at the defendants' Park West Hotel on North Michigan Avenue on Nov. 15, when she tripped on an unmarked curb that blended in with the sidewalk, wheelchair ramp and street.

She accuses the hotel of failing to mark the curb to warn patrons of the danger.

Epstein is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Jeffrey S. Deutschman of Deutschman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
