According to the complaint, Norman was a pedestrian walking on 63rd Street at its intersection with Ashland Avenue on July 6, when a vehicle owned by the city and operated by a Chicago Police Department officer struck him.

Norman claims he sustained injuries in the incident and accuses the city of negligence and willful and wanton conduct.

He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Larry R. Rogers Jr. in Chicago.
