A woman is suing over claims she was injured when a city bus hit her while she was on her bicycle.

Katherine McCracken filed a lawsuit July 24 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Chicago Transit Authority, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, McCracken was riding her bike westbound on Harrison Street on July 25, 2013, when a CTA bus driver traveling in the opposite direction collided with her after trying to turn onto Financial Place in front of oncoming traffic.

She claims the incident left her injured and damaged her property. Her suit accuses the CTA of negligently operating the bus.

McCracken is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Marc D. Alberts in Chicago.
