Woman files lawsuit against Jazzercise over parking lot slip and fall

A woman on her way to an exercise class is suing over claims she slipped and fell in the facility's parking lot.

Robin Allen filed a lawsuit July 28 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Cam Girls, doing business as Jazzercise Glenview, and Allied Investment Source.

In her complaint, Allen alleges she was a member of Jazzercise at its 1151 Waukegan Road location in Glenview and went to the facility on Feb. 10, 2013, when she fell on snow and ice while walking through the parking lot.

Because of her fall, Allen claims she suffered injuries, endured physical limitations and disabilities and experienced pain and suffering.

She blames Jazzercise for causing her fall, saying it negligently failed to remove ice and snow in the parking lot, failed to provide a safe entrance and exit, created an unnatural accumulation of ice and snow, took steps to make the ice and snow more hazardous than it actually was and failed to remedy the hazardous condition.

Allen is seeking a judgment in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court, plus costs, and is being represented by attorney Randall A. Wolff.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2014L007887.
