A Cook County woman is suing over claims her son was injured at a J.C. Penney store.
Lissy Samuel, as mother and guardian of her minor son, filed a premises liability lawsuit July 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court against J.C. Penney Corporation Inc.
According to the complaint, Samuel's son accompanied his family to the J.C. Penney store at Golf Mill Shopping Center in Niles on July 26, 2009, when he sustained injuries after a merchandise display fell on him.
The defendants are accused of being negligent by failing to provide a safe premises for customers.
Samuel is seeking damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Kevin W. O'Connor of O'Connor Law Firm Ltd. in Chicago.
