A man is suing the owner of a south suburban bar, claiming he was injured in a brawl during an all-you-can-drink special event.

Gerardo Quevado filed a lawsuit Oct. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against KKS New Town Lounge, doing business as Hometown Tap.

According to the complaint, Quevado was at the defendant's bar, The Hometown Tap, on Southwest Highway in Hometown for a party featuring an all-you-can-drink bracelet deal  on Oct. 27, 2013.

Quevado claims that two other patrons at the bar were making threatening gestures to various customers, including him, and made physical contact with him several hours later, causing a brawl and injuries that required his hospitalization.

The defendant is accused of failing to have security staff on hand or calling police when it was clear the two patrons were a danger to the other patrons' safety, and violating the Dram Shop Act for serving alcohol to the patrons to the point of intoxication.

Quevado is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorney Gerald W. Napleton of Mark L. Karno & Associates in Chicago.
