A man is suing a bus company after allegedly being involved in a rollover accident as a passenger.

Anthony Oliver filed a complaint Nov. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against Megabus USA of Delaware; Megabus Southeast of Norcross, Georgia; Coach Leasing Inc.; and Coach USA Inc. of Paramus, New Jersey, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Oliver was traveling from Atlanta to Chicago between Oct. 13 and Oct. 14 on a bus owned by the defendants and carrying about 50 or 60 passengers. Oliver says it was raining and the driver announced that the windshield wipers had malfunctioned.

The driver, Oliver asserts, later lost control of the bus, causing it to rollover and come to rest on its side. He contends 20 to 30 of the passengers, including himself, were injured and accuses the defendants of failing to maintain equipment and properly select and train its drivers, among other claims.

Oliver's suit is just the latest complaint filed by a passenger alleging injuries from the rollover incident.

Oliver is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. He is being represented by Thomas A. Zimmerman Jr.,  Adam M. Tamburelli and Frank J. Stretz of Zimmerman Law Offices in Chicago, as well as James P. LeFante of LeFante Law Offices in Peoria.
