A woman who claims she slipped and fell at a banquet nearly a decade ago is suing.

Patricia Habtemichael filed a lawsuit Nov. 4 against Harambee House Banquets & Dusties Buffets Inc. in the Cook County Circuit Court. Her complaint notes she first brought the action against the defendant in 2007, but voluntarily dismissed it last year.

According to the refiled complaint, Habtemichael attended a banquet catered by the defendant at 11901 South Loomis St. on June 10, 2005, when the defendant's employees did not attend to a greasy mess on the floor, causing her to slip and fall.

Habtemichael is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, plus court costs, and is represented by Bennett J. Baker of Goldberg Weisman & Cairo in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number: 2014L011455.
