A patron of a Chicago tavern is suing its owners over claims she was injured when two other patrons got into a fight.
Kathy O'Grady filed a complaint Nov. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against Egatav Inc., doing business as Egan's Tavern, which Yelp reports has closed.
According to the complaint, O'Grady on April 1, 2011 went to Egan's Tavern, where a drunken man was harassing and agitating other patrons. After apparently creating a scene that was brought to the attention of staff, the suit states the man left, but then started a fight with another patron when he returned.
During the fight, O'Grady claims one of the men fell and landed on her leg, causing injuries. She accuses the defendant of failing to provide a safe environment
She is seeking damages and is represented by Zachary K. Sims P.C. in Glenview.
