A baggage handler is suing the city for injuries he allegedly sustained while working at O'Hare International Airport.
Alexander Piek Jr. filed suit Nov. 3 in Cook County Circuit Court against the City of Chicago.
According to the complaint, Piek was working as a baggage handler at O'Hare on Nov. 9, 2013, when he fell in a hole in the pavement and injured himself while climbing off a cargo loader between two gates.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide a safe work area for him at this time, and that injuries sustained in the fall led to permanent disability.
Piek is seeking damages and is represented by Mark G. Adler of Adler & Adler in Chicago.
