A Cook County woman is suing a law firm that pays William Shatner to serve as its spokesperson, claiming its alleged failure to file her lawsuit on time has left her unable to recover damages for the injuries she sustained in a collision.
Sandra Larry filed a legal malpractice lawsuit Nov. 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against Slocumb Law Firm LLC, a firm that has offices in Alabama, Maryland and Washington D.C., according to its website that says it serves Chicago as well.
Larry claims she retained Slocumb Law to bring a lawsuit over injuries she allegedly sustained in a 2011 in a collision between a PACE suburban bus she was a passenger on and a private automobile in Harvey.
According to her complaint, the defendant law firm failed to file her suit against the drivers and companies involved in the collision within the period of statute of limitations, preventing her from recovering damages.
Larry is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, plus court costs, and is represented by the Law Office of Andrew S. Kryder in Chicago.
