The owner of a Broadview gas station is facing a lawsuit from a customer who claims she fell on rubber mat while leaving the store.
Corrine Purchase filed a complaint Nov. 18 in Cook County Circuit Court against JTH Broadview Inc., doing business as Broadview Shell.
According to the complaint, Purchase stopped at the Broadview Shell at 2425 W. Roosevelt Road in Broadview on Oct. 6, 2013, when she says she tripped and fell over a large rubber mat outside the door while leaving following a purchase.
The plaintiff accuses the defendants of being negligent in failing to maintain a safe premises for customers. She is seeking more than $50,000 and is represented by attorney Daniel R. McLean of Karlin, Fleisher & Falkenberg in Chicago.
