Hotel guest claims toilet leak caused his fall

Scales 150x150

A Cook County man is suing the owners of a resort and indoor water park in Gurnee over claims a toilet leak caused him to fall.

James Brown filed a complaint Nov. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against Gurnee Water Park, doing business as Keylime Cove, and Veracity Management Group Inc.

According to the complaint, Brown was a guest at Keylime Cove's resort at 1700 Nations Drive in Gurnee on Aug. 9, when he slipped and fell in the bathroom because of a toilet leak that the staff was aware of.

Brown alleges he was injured during the fall and says the defendants are liable for his injuries due to their responsibility to provide a safe location for guests.

Brown is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, plus court costs, and is represented by attorneys from Susan E. Loggans & Associates in Chicago.
