A man is suing the owners of Portage Park pub over claims he sustained brain injuries after being beat with a baseball bat by multiple drunk patrons.
Sergio Salgado Jr. filed a complaint Nov. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against J.M.O. Worldwide Inc., Jadwiga Sobieska and Boleslaw Szymanski.
According to the complaint, Salgado was at Keepers Pub on Addison Street on July 27, when he was attacked and severely beaten by several drunken patrons of the defendants' bar. He says he was hit, punched and struck with a baseball bat in the attack that caused him to lose consciousness, and sustain skull fractures and traumatic brain injuries.
Salgado blames the defendants for his injuries, saying they failed to provide a safe atmosphere for patrons.
He seeks damages in excess of $50,000 from each defendant, plus court costs, and is represented by attorney Nicholas C. Syregelas of the Law Offices of Nicholas C. Syregelas in Chicago.
