An driver is suing the operator of a Morris chemical plant after allegedly sustaining injuries due to exposure to dangerous chemicals.
Eddie Rainey filed a complaint Nov. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry LLC.
According to the complaint, Rainey was at the defendant's facility at 8005 Tabler Road in Morris working as a driver on Feb. 7, when he claims he was exposed to toxic and/or dangerous chemicals that resulted in bodily harm.
He accuses the defendant of failing to provide a safe work environment for all employers and visitors by not providing properly fitting equipment to connect the truck tank to the receiving rack and working emergency showers, among other alleged acts of negligence.
Rainey seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs, and is represented by attorney John K. Vrdolyak of The Vrdolyak Law Group in Chicago.
