A Cook County man filed suit against the city of Chicago and three construction companies for liability and negligence after allegedly being crushed by heavy equipment.

Nicholas Elliott filed suit Nov. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Lindahl Brothers Inc., Walsh Construction Co., Peoples Gas Light and Coke Co. and the City of Chicago.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 9, 2013, Lindahl Brothers, Walsh Construction and Peoples Gas were working as contractors on a renovation project at O'Hare International Airport. Elliott, the suit states, was working on the project as an employee of KS Energy Services LLC.

During the project, Elliott claims that he was crushed by a hydraulic excavator, causing severe and permanent internal and external injuries. He alleges that as a result of his injuries, he is permanently disabled and unable to return to work.

Elliott seeks damages in excess of jurisdictional limits, plus court costs, and is represented by Joseph J. Miroballi and Adam S. Budz of Miroballi, Durkin & Rudin in Chicago.
