An employee of a Northlake-based ink producer has filed a lawsuit against a steel drum company for injuries allegedly sustained while unloading a truck.

Terry Redmond filed suit Dec. 18 in Cook County Circuit Court against Meyer Steel Drum Inc. in Chicago.

According to the complaint, Redmond, while employed by Sun Chemical, was unloading a row of steel drums from the defendant's vehicle on Jan. 25, 2013, when he lost his balance and fell partially through the space between the rear of the Meyer truck and the dock area.

Redmond alleges Meyer Steel Drum should have known a dangerous condition would exist by overloading the truck with the drums and claims it negligently positioned the truck at an angle that created the a gap he fell through. As a result of the incident, Redmond contends he suffered permanent personal injuries.

Redmond is represented by attorney John L. Grazien of Grazien & Volpe of Chicago.

This is a report on a civil lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court. The details in this report come from an original complaint filed by a plaintiff. Please note, a complaint represents an accusation by a private individual, not the government. It is not an indication of guilt and represents only one side of the story.
