A Lake County man is suing over claims he fell on ice in a school parking lot

James Geary filed a lawsuit Dec. 22, 2014, in Cook County Circuit Court against Ground Effects Inc. and Grayslake Community High School District 127, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 20, 2013, Geary slipped and fell on the accumulation of ice on the premises of Grayslake Community High School District 127 at 1925 North Route 83 in Grayslake.

Geary contends Ground Effects was assigned to Grayslake school district to remove snow and ice from its parking lot, but negligently failed to properly remove the accumulation of ice and snow from the premises and apply rock salt to the surface, causing him to fall and injure himself.

Geary is represented by attorney James P. Tutaj of FreemanTutaj in Grayslake.
