Scales 150x150

A Chicago man is suing a medical doctor and the county over claims he suffered serious physical injuries due to the improper administration of medications.

Mark Tyler filed suit Jan. 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against Cook County, doing business as John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, and Dr. Lynn Kessler, individually and as an employee of the county.

According to the complaint, Tyler sought medical treatment for symptoms relating to diabetes on Dec. 19, 2012, when he alleges Kessler negligently prescribed the incorrect dose of Lantus and/or Humalog drugs.

Among other allegations of negligence, Tyler contends the defendants failed to provide adequate instructions regarding the use and dosage of the drugs, causing him to suffer hypoglycemic seizures and respiratory failure.

Tyler is represented by attorney Rebecca Neubauer of Romanucci & Blandin in Chicago.

This is a report on a civil lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court. The details in this report come from an original complaint filed by a plaintiff.
