A woman is suing a chain of burger joints over claims she sustained injuries at its Chicago location because a section of the floor was not carpeted.
Olga Salgado filed a premises liability lawsuit Jan. 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against Epic Burger.
According to the complaint, Salgado was at the Epic Burger at 1000 W. North Ave. in Chicago on Nov. 11, 2014, when she slipped and fell after walking from a carpeted area by the soda fountains to her table in the dining area that was not carpeted.
Salgado alleges Epic Burger negligently failed to properly design, construct and maintain the uncarpeted section of the floor or warn patrons of the dangerous condition it created.
She is represented by attorney Richard R. Gordon of Gordon Law Offices in Chicago.
