Man blames Riverside buffet for trip

A man is suing a North Riverside restaurant over claims he fell while in the establishment.

Samuel Scardino filed suit Jan. 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against Emperor's Buffet Inc., doing business as EM Buffet at 7501 W. Cermak Road, alleging he sustained injuries after tripping and falling on Oct. 26.

Scardino claims Emperor's Buffet negligently allowed a knee wall with a drop down cutout to remain in the area even though patrons carrying trays in their hands would not be able to see it.  He further contends the defendant failed to warn patrons of the danger.

He is seeking damages and is represented by attorney Robert A. Novelle Jr. of Novelle Law Associates in Westchester.
