Woman blames Union League Club for stair fall

A woman is suing a Chicago hotel and social club over claims its failure to provide a proper handrail caused her to fall down a flight of stairs.

Roseanne Anschuetz filed a premises liability lawsuit Jan. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court against Union League Club of Chicago Inc.

According to the complaint, Anschuetz was at Union League Club at 65 W. Jackson Blvd. on March 3, 2013, when she fell after walking down the second floor set of stairs, causing her to sustain injuries.

Anschuetz accuses the defendant of failing to provide a proper handrail and non-slippery stairs for business invitees, as well as not warning guests about the alleged danger.

She is seeking damages and represented by attorney Rebecca Neubauer of Romanucci & Blandin in Chicago.
