A woman is suing the owners of a Gurnee shopping center, as well three construction and flooring companies, over claims she fell on an uneven section of the floor.
Theresa Reyes filed suit Jan. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against Gurnee Mills, CFM Affinity Construction Co., MB Flooring Inc. and Zolis Flooring.
According to the complaint, Reyes tripped on an uneven section of the floor on June 30, 2013 while shopping at Gurnee Mills at 6170 W. Grand Ave. in Gurnee, resulting in injuries to her left leg.
She accuses the defendants of failing to keep the aisle floor surface on an even level by allowing a depression to exist, and not warning business customers of the existence of the danger by placing a sign or barricade at the location.
Reyes is represented by attorney Warren E. Abrahamson of Sandman, Levy and Petrich in Chicago.
