Rosemont man claims moving truck backed into him

Scales 150x150

A Rosemont man is suing over claims a moving company truck crushed and pinned him while he was helping direct the driver.

Milton Santiago of Rosemont filed a lawsuit Jan. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court against Bill Krantz, BP Movers Inc. and Jan's Antiques.

According to the complaint, Santiago was delivering goods for Krantz and BP Movers to Jan's Antiques at 2008 Dempster St. in Evanston on March 24, 2014. While he was assisting the BP Movers' driver with backing the truck behind the vehicle, Santiago claims the truck crushed and pinned him, resulting in physical injuries.

Santiago alleges Krantz and BP Movers negligently operated the vehicle too closely to him, failed to stop or change the speed of the truck to avoid striking him and carelessly instructed him to stand behind the truck.

Santiago is represented by Ruberry, Stalmack & Garvey in Chicago.
