Marquardt 150x150

A woman is suing a Chicago parking garage over claims she was injured when the garage door allegedly prematurely closed on her vehicle.

Bita Buenrostro filed suit Jan. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Standard Parking Corporation IL, SP Plus Corp., The Habitat Co. and Habitat Levin.

According to the complaint, Buenrostro entered the public parking garage owned and managed by Standard Parking Corporation IL at 1030 N. State St.  on April 21, 2013, when Buenrostro attempted to enter the garage and the overhead door lowered and landed on her vehicle.

Buenrostro accuses the defendants of failing to repair and maintain the door and failed to discover the defect and warn invitees of the danger of the door. She is represented by attorney Adam J. Marquardt of Brustin & Lundblad in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number: 2015L000604.
