Slip at Lincoln Park complex leads to suit

Scales 150x150

A woman is suing a Lincoln Park apartment complex over claims she fell while on the premises.

Lennea Stokes filed suit Jan. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against Claridge Ivy and The Ivy Apartments at the Imperial, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Stokes sustained injuries Oct. 13, 2013, when she slipped and fell on the accumulation of water at the front entrance of the building at 2437 N. Southport Ave. in Chicago, causing her to sustain fractures to her arm.

Stokes claims she fell because the defendants failed to remove the water from the floor and allowed the front entrance to remain in a dangerous condition. She also alleges the defendants negligently failed to warm visitors of the existence of the danger.

Stokes is represented by attorney Lisa M. Ciharan of the Law Offices of Cy Weiner in Chicago.
