An 18-year-old is suing the Chicago Board of Education over claims a security guard headbutted him after a high school event.

According to the suit filed Jan. 15 in the Cook County Circuit Court, Ivan Rios attended an event on Oct. 16, 2014 at Lane Technical High School on Addison Street.

When he and a few friends attempted to enter the school parking lot to get to their vehicle, Rios alleges several school security guards and police officers prevented them access and one of the security guards rushed at him without provocation and headbutted him in the face, causing him to sustain concussive-like symptoms.

The security guard was acting as an agent of the Chicago Board of Education and, as such, Rios contends the defendant is responsible for the guard's actions. He is represented by attorney Richard Dvorak of Dvorak Law Offices in Willowbrook
