A man is suing over claims he was injured when he tripped over a mat at Walmart.
Tony M. Marquez filed a lawsuit Jan. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
According to the complaint, Marquez was at the Walmart on Joliet Road in Hodgkins on Feb. 10, 2013, when he tripped on a raised portion of a mat in the store and sustained injuries.
Walmart negligently failed to repair the mat and warn invitees of the existence of the danger, the suit states.
Marquez seeks more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by Sheldon J. Aberman Gary J. Wintroub & Associates in Chicago.
