A patron of a now-shuttered bar on the city's Near North Side is suing over claims he was attacked by another customer, an employee of the bar and some of its security personnel.
George Tachev and his wife, Dana Marie Biancalana, filed a lawsuit Feb. 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against Top Chach LLC, doing business as Stone Lotus, and Zoran Rickovich.
According to the complaint, Tachev was at the Stone Lotus bar on North Orleans Street at about 3 a.m. on Aug. 6, 2008, when he was struck in the head, face, chest, back, legs and arms by the defendants.
Tachev accuses Top Chach of negligently hiring and supervising its employees and failing to intervene to stop the fight. His suit also includes a battery count against Top Chach, a negligence count against Rickovich and loss of consortium counts filed by Tachev's wife.
Tachev seeks damages in excess of $50,000. He is represented by attorney David Nemeroff of Nemeroff Law Offices in Chicago.
