A woman is suing Quest Diagnostics, claiming a nerve in her left arm was damaged during a routine blood draw procedure.
Christine Goettel filed a lawsuit Feb. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court against Quest Diagnostics, Quest Diagnostics Clinical Laboratories Inc. and Quest Diagnostics-McHenry.
According to the complaint, Goettel had her blood drawn on March 1, 2013 at Quest Diagnostics at 4119 Shamrock Lane in McHenry. During the blood draw, Goettel contends an agent of the defendants negligently inserted the needle into her left arm to draw blood, causing damage to her left lateral cutaneous nerve.
