Suit alleges woman died from secondary asbestos exposure

Vogelzang 150x150

A woman is suing 10 companies with connections to asbestos-containing products that she alleges led to another woman's death via secondary exposure.

Linda Nagle, as special administrator for Corinne Geltner, filed suit Jan. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against A.W. Chesterton Co., American Biltrite Inc. and eight other companies.

According to the complaint, Geltner's husband was exposed to asbestos through the defendants’ products between 1966 to 1979. Geltner's secondary exposure caused her to develop mesothelioma, which ultimately led to her Dec. 25 death, the suit states.

Nagle alleges the defendants knew or should have known their products contained asbestos and would result in physical harm, and failed to provide adequate warnings of the danger of asbestos exposure.

Nagle is represented by Nicholas Vogelzang of Connelly & Vogelzang in Chicago.
