The son of a former school administrator is suing dozens of companies, alleging their asbestos-containing products resulted in his mother's lung disease and death.
Mark J. Frigo, as administrator for Mary B. Frigo, filed a lawsuit March 11 in Cook County Circuit Court against A.W. Chesterton Co., H.B. Fuller Co., Union Carbide Corp., and more than 20 other companies.
According to the complaint, Mary was exposed to secondary asbestos between 1969 and 1985, during which time her sons worked near the defendants’ products as a laborer, bricklayer, firefighter and construction manager.
Frigo alleges Mary's secondary asbestos exposure led her to develop mesothelioma, which she became aware of Feb. 10, 2014 and led to her Feb. 24, 2014 death.
He claims the defendants knew or should have known their products contained asbestos and would result in physical harm, and failed to provide adequate warnings about the dangers of asbestos exposure.
Frigois represented by attorney Michael T. Egan of Cooney & Conway in Chicago.
Cook County Circuit Court case number: 2015L002484.
