Slip on ice lands snow removal company, others in court

A man is suing a trio of companies over a slip on ice and snow that left him injured.

Roberta Dempsey filed a lawsuit March 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against PSL Holdings, Victory Centre and Tovar Snow Professionals Inc.

According to the complaint, PSL Holdings and Victory Centre operated a business at 101 Main St., in Park Forest and they contracted Tovar Professionals to perform ice and snow removal from their premises.

On March, 9, 2014, the suit alleges, Dempsey slipped and fell on an accumulation of ice and snow while walking next to chairs by the building entrance.

She accuses the defendants of failing to keep the premises safe, clear of debris, maintained and repaired at all times. She further contends the defendants were aware of the icy conditions but failed to remedy the situation, correct the defects or warn her of the hazard.

Dempsey seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs, and is represented by attorney Jacquelyn Fernandez of The Vrdolyak Law Group in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number: 2015L002403.
