A man and his wife are suing a Northbrook woman over claims the man was injured after being struck by a vehicle as he crossed the street in Northbrook.
Harold M. Shavell and Donna Shavell filed a lawsuit March 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against Rhya D. Swiryn citing negligence.
The lawsuit states that Harold Shavell suffered injuries after Swiryn's vehicle struck him as he crossed the road at Russett Lane and Sanders Road, within a marked pedestrian crosswalk.
Harold Shavell is seeking $50,000 in damages, plus costs. Donna Shavell also is seeking $50,000 in damages, plus costs, for loss of consortium.
The plaintiffs are represented by Paul R. Struebing of the Cavanagh Law Group of Chicago.
