A man's estate is suing for injuries the man sustained after allegedly being prescribed the wrong medicine upon discharge from a nursing home.

Rena Edgeston, as administrator of the estate of Robert J. Edgeston, filed a complaint on June 18 in Cook County Circuit Court against THI of Illinois at Brentwood LLC, doing business as Brentwood Sub-Acute Healthcare Center; Brentwood Center, doing business as Brentwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Inc.; Omnicare Inc., Omnicare Pharmacy Services Inc.; Enloe Drugs LLC; JHC Acquisition LLC and Omnicare of Northern Illinois.

On April 29, 2011, while the deceased was discharged from being a patient of the defendant's facility at 5400 W. 87th St., Burbank, he was given a prescription for the medicine Pravastatin Sodium. But this was the wrong medicine, the lawsuit states; he should have received a prescription for Paroxetine.

As a result, the lawsuit states, the deceased suffered personal and pecuniary damages.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $350,000, plus costs. The plaintiff is represented by the Vrdolyak Law Group LLC in Chicago.
