Cookcountycourt

A couple is suing the driver of a laboratory vehicle and its corporate owner for allegedly causing an accident that injured the wife.

Judie A. Leavitt Olson and Jon Olson filed a complaint on July 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against Stacey L. Hunt and her employer, Quest Diagnostics LLC.

On Aug. 6, 2014, Leavitt Olson, of Morton Grove, was driving south on Route 41, about one-fourth of a mile north of Old Elm in Lake Forest, while at the same time, Hunt was driving a Quest Diagnostics vehicle on the same road and in the same direction.

According to the lawsuit, Hunt rammed into the rear of Leavitt Olson's vehicle, pushing her into the vehicle in front of her and causing her injury.

The defendant and her employer are cited with negligence for failing to keep a proper lookout, yield to avoid an accident and the right of way, keep her eyes on the road, apply her brakes, drive at a safe speed, and avoid hitting the car in front of her.

The plaintiff, as a result, suffered injuries, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement and medical expenses. She seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs. Her husband, the other plaintiff, citing loss of consortium and the Family Expense Act, seeks unspecified damages, plus costs.

The plaintiff is represented by Eron H. Fisher of Fisher and Lamonica PC in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L007108.
